As the title of the conference suggests, the main theme concerns the revival of midwifery profession after decades of medicalization. The conference will explore how midwives would contribute to the development of women-centred care, the philosophy of maternity services that the midwifery profession is aiming at. Midwives are the experts in normal pregnancy, childbirth and postnatal care, and provide integrated care across the primary and secondary sectors. Midwife-led care is popular with women, cost-effective and delivers good outcomes. We welcome abstracts of research studies or initiatives that are related to the conference theme and which can lead to improving midwifery practice, management and/or education. |
